Something Sweet Without Wheat loves supporting local businesses, it is an amazing thing to be able to develop a small community with store owners and foodies an all around MA and NH that are as passionate as SSWW when it comes to providing homemade specialties.
One of our new closest friends is Chef Steve, a local bakery owner out of Winchester, MA who happens to be an award winning pastry chef, and a master at creating and selling a mouth watering selection of European pastry. Chef Steve opened La Patisserie in Winchester center in the 1970's and it has been famous among the Boston area for decades.
But Chef Steve couldn't settle for only providing for walk-ins, everybody deserves their favorite baked treat no matter where they are, right? so in 2004 he created the concept of an online bakery, 1-800 Bakery, because according to Chef Steve "Every successful neighborhood bakery has a sweet scented claim to fame--that cookie, pastry, or cake that makes them special and that everyone in town raves about. Needless to say, the concept of an online bakery took off, and Chef Steve has been on a hunt for only the best bakeries across the country to provide for anyone who knows and appreciates a perfected dessert.
